History of Handen

Handens Museum och Smedja is a local history museum that opened to the public in December 2008. The museum tells the story of Handen’s history and has an active forge where handicrafts are made. Contact person is Martin Ahlsén (070-541 25 90).

The museum is located at Getporsvägen 8 in Haninge. The museum offers courses and events such as the Kulturparksfestivalen, autumn market and Christmas market.

The museum’s collection includes objects and documents that tell the story of Handen’s past, from its early days as a farming community to its development into a modern suburb.

The museum also has a research library that is open to the public. The library contains a collection of books, articles and other materials on the history of Handen and the surrounding area.
